Dr. William (Bill) Reid is a Certified Facilitator and a Master Trainer for True Colors International. Bill has been using True Colors since his days as a high school principal and now trains those who wish to learn to facilitate the popular program. Bill also holds certifications for True Communications, True Coaching, and True Parenting. Born in Scotland, Bill grew up in Ontario, Canada where he received an Honours BA in English Literature at Trent University followed by a Bachelor of Education. He began teaching in Fort St. John, British Columbia and moved to Nelson to become the principal of the local high school. A lifelong learner, he continued his education by completing a Masters Degree in Educational Administration, and then a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. From the high school he moved on to serve the school district as District Principal for Distance Education, International Programs and Technology, then the Director of Instruction (Human Resources), and ultimately Superintendent of Schools/CEO. After a distinguished career in education, Bill now works as a consultant out of his office in Nelson. An innovational educator and trained facilitator, Bill has presented sessions throughout British Columbia and worldwide. He speaks at conferences on a variety of topics such as team building, time management, and decision making or presenting his keynote address, “Head, Hands, Heart: What Every Organization Needs to Know.” He offers his professional facilitation skills to support groups of all sizes in achieving their goals at meetings, workshops, and retreats.
Bill volunteers his time on a number of Boards including the International Association of Facilitators, the International True Colors Association, and the City of Nelson Police Board. He received an Outstanding Community Leadership award for his work as Vice President of the BC Seniors Games in 2011. His favourite work, however, is as a Master Trainer for the True Colors Program and he calls True Colors his True Passion.
